Hi! We are David, and Tess! David is from Australia and Tess is from Uppsala. We have lived on our farm, Slinkom in Uppsala for 11 years, after leaving the restaurant business in Stockholm for a new more natural life with our two daughters and three cats. We have sheep, hens and pigs and make compost for our vegetables from their manure all of our produce we sell directly to our customers. We follow Permaculture and organic principles, all our work is done by hand. We are also currently building a production kitchen for processing local produce.
The work we do is varied from day to day and depends on the season. This includes moving sheep, collecting eggs, planting crops, packing orders for our customers or feeding the animals.
We are currently working on a market garden and perennial food forest hedges, building a production kitchen, renovating existing accommodation and a larger henhouse so there is plenty of opportunity to get involved in those projects.
We are both chefs and Tess is also a Sommelier, we spend most of our time raising food on our farm, gardening and cooking. We have a beautiful lake close by and we are there swimming as often as possible.
Geographically we are located very centrally with good connections so guests can easily visit other towns and cities.
Hej, vi heter David och Tess som driver denna gård. Vi flyttade ut till Slinkom för att leva ett mer naturligt liv med våra barn och katter.
På gården finns det höns, får och grisar. Allt som vi producerar har på gården säljer vi direkt till kund, utan mellanhänder. Vi följer ekologiska och permakultur principer. Allt vårt arbetet utför vi för hand.
Dom dagliga arbetsuppgifterna varierar. Det kan vara allt från att flytta djur, samla in ägg, plantera, packa beställningar till utfodring av djuren.
Vi håller också på att anlägga en perenn skogsträdgård, bygga ett produktionskök, renovera gamla hus och bygga ut hönshuset. Så man kan även delta i dessa projekt.
Vi kommer båda från restaurang branschen så vi har ett stort intresse för mat och dess ursprung.
