The farm is located in a rural landscape with many small-scale farmers, about five kilometres from the nearest village. Here, I grow organic vegetables, garden plants, and flowers, which I sell at the local market. The farming is small-scale, hands-on, and deeply rooted in self-sufficiency. I used to work at the university of agriculture back in the days.
WWOOFers are welcome from April to October. Tasks follow the seasons and mainly include sowing, planting, harvesting, and occasionally helping with sales at the market. I usually work from 9:00–12:00, followed by a siesta, and then continue again from 14:00–16:00. In the afternoons, I can also offer theoretical lessons for those who wish to deepen their knowledge of cultivation and self-sufficiency.
Accommodation is very simple but functional. WWOOFers stay in three small rooms in the attic or in an older caravan and have access to all household facilities. I do not have a TV, but there is a computer with internet access.
I speak Spanish and English fluently and enjoy practising German, French, and even Russian although the latter is a bit more challenging. I usually host between one and three WWOOFers at a time, and the minimum stay is three weeks.
Cooking is an important part of daily life. You prepare your own breakfast, we eat lunch together at 12:00, and dinner is prepared by you at a time that suits you. Meals are based on what is grown on the farm. I am an omnivore.
I am a seed enthusiast and have been active in the seed association Sesam. On approximately 2,000 square metres, I grow food with a focus on self-sufficiency and host seed gatherings on the last Sunday of May. The cultivation is based on mulching, no-dig methods, garden farming, and raised beds. For those who are genuinely interested, I am happy to offer more structured explanations and learning sessions, often during lunch.
On Saturdays, I go to the markets in Lund, Hörby, and Sjöbo. WWOOFers are free during the week if they wish to join and take part in the market activities.
I am mainly looking for you who are passionate about self-sufficiency and organic farming, and who appreciate structure, curiosity, and punctuality. Please bring sturdy shoes, work clothes are available in most sizes.
I welcomed my first WWOOFers back in 2004 and have hosted at least 400 people over the years. What I value most with WWOOF is getting to know individuals and personalities from all over the world that I would otherwise never have met especially young people with a genuine interest in cultivation and alternative ways of living.
