Permaculture Organic Gardens
The garden 2019 Forest garden surroundings
20 • Updated 5 months ago
Welcome to help out this season in our Permaculture Gardens near the Baltic Sea in the south of Sweden . We started out as wwoofers 1995 and now have a Permaculture Garden where we grow a lot of vegetables, fruits, berries, and herbs for self-sufficiency. Agroforestry and other permaculture projects are integrated at our place; we have a reedbed wastewater system, compost toilets, and a house built of straw, clay, wood, sand, and wood chips. At the farm, I live with my two daughters,24 years and 16 years old. I'm also a head manager and run an organic seed company nearby. In the garden, varieties of veg and flowers are grown for the family. The work also includes some time in the trial gardens of the seed company. Welcome to join us in our sustainable life in the most beautiful surroundings in the south of sweden. Beach is 900m away. National parks and a big lake are not far away. This year we’re looking for friends or a couple who are interested in self-sufficiency and permaculture to come and work mainly in the garden, preferably stay 2-4 weeks. Starting in the spring with soil preparation and gardening and some times painting and other farm jobs ,work carries on until September. You’ll be welcome to pick fruit and veg from the garden, and we'll provide you with the rest. We give all wwoofers a trial week.We ask wwoofers to work around 25h/week ,5 days a week, depending on the weather. We offer wwoofers separate accommodation in a basic, small cabin in the garden with a wood stove, but no running water. A place for a tent or tipi as well if you prefer that. Compost toilet in the garden and shared shower/ bathroom in the main house.   See you soon!!! / Ninni  Organic methods: Permaculture, organic growing, forest gardening, agroforestry Certifications: All land in the eco village we belong to is certified organic, Current projects: This summer, the work will mainly be gardening but also restoring and some house maintenance. Had a really memorable stay at Ninni's! We have been taking care of late summer tasks in the garden, such as harvesting small fruits and plums as well as weeding and watering. We have also learnt a few things about linseed oil painting! Thanks Ninni for welcoming us, you were a really great host!

I had a very good time at Ninnis tradgarden! She is a kind and heartful person with many experiences in permaculture gardening. I enjoyed my first wwoofing stay and the work in the garden very much and loved the nice area around! Thank you, Ninni, for everything! Best wishes for you! Iria

Wwoofing with Ninni was such an enriching and warm experience - through morning coffees, garden and field work, being welcomed into her circle of friends, life chats, shared meals with the other wwoofers staying there, learning, helping others, communal activities, evening swims(dips) in the Baltic, long cycles, long walks - to see and experience a different way to be, the two weeks went both fast and slow.

It was mutually a happy experience having Antoin staying here. And what would I do now without my new veranda. Cheers 🍻

We had our very first wwoof experience with Ninni and we had the best time ever. First of all Ninni's garden is a green oasis with lots of things to learn at every corner. Not only is Ninni very knowledgeable on Permaculture, she also shares on her ideals and lifestyle, the strawbale house, the community, the organic seed business, ... Our jobs consisted mainly of woodwork and garden maintenance. We spent many hours chatting and exchanging during and after work. We've learned so much and are forever grateful.

We stayed with Ninni as a couple for 2 weeks and had a great experience! Ninni is a very good host who looked out for us, communicates clearly and makes sure her volunteers' needs are met. Ninni's place is in a beautiful location with lots of places to explore nearby - including a beach, great places to eat and Simrishamn only a short bus away. The work itself is varied, fun and very educational - In our experience, Ninni can have a specific approach in mind when carrying out tasks, and this might take some getting used to. Having said that, Ninni is a compassionate person and is always open to reiterating instructions. All in all, we really enjoyed staying at Ninni's and would recommend staying as a pair. Thanks Ninni!
