Family home and garden - rural
Västra Götaland
I am a woman who followed my dream and moved out from the big city 2013 and bought a little property in the countryside.
I recently joined Wwoof Sweden again after a 3 years pause. I welcome new and old volunteers back to my farm.
Lidaberg is a small, ecological farm in a beautiful district. I am interested in sustainible living, spirituality and personal development. I try to grow vegetables, fruit and berries in a permacultural way and want to learn more about it.
My farm is situated in a beautiful landscape close to Varnhem in Västergötland. There are a lot of historical interesting places here, lakes and beautiful, protected nature areas. A big lake with thousands of birds (Hornborgasjön) and nice walking paths.
There are also a lot of art galleries around.
My guests stays mainly in a guest room in the barn,
sometimes in a guest room in my house.
We prepare the food and do the kitchen work and cleaning together.
The working time will be ca 5 hours netto pr day 5 days a week.
The working tasks would be: gardenwork like weeding, watering, seeding, grasscutting. Prepare fruit and vegetables, collect berries and herbs, Prepare the firewood for the winter . Some painting and help to renovate in an eco friendly way.
Organic methods: Mulching, lasagna beds, bokashi, natural fertilizer
Certifications: I use organic methods in my gardening
Current projects: Garden work, wood preparing, fencing, organizing

I had an amazing two-week stay here! I slept on the second floor of a lovely, beautifully decorated annex. Birgit was always patient with my poor English and explained things clearly so I could understand. I really loved spending time with Zuzu — she’s such a sweet and smart cat.
During my stay, I helped harvest apples, weed the garden, collect leaves, plant garlic, and even do some painting. I also took turns cooking and cleaning up meals with Birgit. Cooking alone on time was sometimes hard for me, but Birgit always said it tasted good, even when it wasn’t perfect! When I made cinnamon rolls and wanted to try again, she kindly prepared all the ingredients for my second attempt.
Birgit has many friends, and I really enjoyed joining her for walks and meals.
She also has an Airbnb, so sometimes I shared the bathroom with other guests. I was a bit shy because my English isn’t great, but maybe it was a good chance to meet new people and make friends!
I had so many new and fun experiences. Thank you so much for everything!

I stayed in Lidaberg for about two weeks and had a wonderful experience. The surroundings were so beautiful – perfect for walking and cycling, and Birgit’s house (and the barn where I was staying) itself was charming. During my stay Birgit took me to a local art exhibition, market and one hiking trail with her, which was absolutely great.
Most of the work I did was weeding the garden beds and covering them with hay for winter, and I also helped paint two windows together with Birgit. She was really friendly and generous and made me feel that my work was appreciated. Also we had like the best homemade ice cream and jam!
I can warmly recommend Lidaberg to future wwoofers. Thank you Birgit for everything!

I spent two weeks with Birgit and Zuzu 🐈, who were very friendly to me. We often worked together. Overall, the tasks were very varied. We also took turns preparing meals every day. Birgit was generous to me and greatly appreciated my help.

I spent about 12 days with Birgit and can only recommend it! Birgit is an open-minded, friendly, patient, and witty person. The working hours were always clearly regulated, and one had time in the afternoon or on weekends to explore the area. There was also great delicious vegetarian food and homemade ice cream and jam. We took turns preparing meals every day.
The tasks mainly involve the garden. During my stay, I worked on the beds and planted new vegetables.
I felt very comfortable and enjoyed the conversations with Birgit and Andreas. Even though my English is improvable, I didn’t feel left out.

I stayed in Lidaberg for one week, and I wish I could have stayed for longer! Birgit is such a wonderful host. I really enjoyed working here, not to mention eating such good food, including homemade bread and ice cream. My tasks and schedule were always clear and I had much time to explore the surrounding area on foot, by bike, or taking the bus. Every day was exciting and rejuvenating. I could not have asked for a better first WWOOFing experience! Thank you :)
