Welcome to Ås trädgård! My name is Jorun and I run the farm together with employes and family. During the summers, and most of all in August, it's intense work with harvest a lot of customers making the trip out of town to visit us. The assignements will differ througout the season. In June and July we plant most of our crops and after that it's all about taking care of them; watering, weeding, setting up fences for the beans to climb on. There's also a lot to do in our greenhouses, taking care of our tomatoes, cucumbers and squash. Stating in the end of July and through August we open our farm shop for customers as the crops are ready for harvest. Most of it is done manually, among other things you will join us as we make bundles of carrots and beetroots by hand on the field. We sort them, clean them, store them and often times they go directly to the shop and the customers hands. Living here with us means you live in the house, sometimes we eat together, often we do how it suites the day =)

If you arrive in Östersund we can either pick you up or you take the bus 159 towards Ås and tell the driver you want to get off at Handelsföreningen or Ås trädgård.

Though I had left Jorun’s farm for a few weeks already, I still miss the great time spent there. I enjoyed a lot the surrounding nature. Thanks Jorun for the opportunity that I can have a taste of living so close to the nature and to experience doing farm work. I am amazed by the effort and time needed to run the farm and to take care of the vegetables. We worked in the farm and in the greenhouse to do weeding and taking care of the vegetables. After the work, we sometimes went to the lake nearby. I am really grateful for the warm welcome and care from Jorun and Jorun’s family! The time spending with them beside the lake and in the house is unforgettable, and these moments truly make my journey more complete. I hope that I will come again one day to visit Jorun’s family and to do farm work again!

Ås Trädgård is a beautiful farm and the best choice if you're looking for an amazing host and an experience you'll never forget. Its driven by people who love what they're doing and you'll learn a lot during your stay. Also you'll feel like a part of the family after the first day already, I highly recommend spending your time as a wwoofer here! :)

I have spent my last three weeks at Ås Trädgård and absolutely loved it. I wanted to do wwoofing because I wanted to train my swedish and because I wanted to spend as much time as possible working outside but in the end I got so much more. Once you get to meet the Olssons and their way of aproaching everything regarding the farm and all the world around them, you are going to fall in love with this family. Under my time at Ås Trädgård I understood that love has to be the foundation in each and every of your actions and so you are going to have succes in it. My only regret is that I didn't get to meet those members of the family who are away but the gap was filled very well by the amazing Christian and Theres, who work there. It is the first time I did wwooffing and I can firmly say that if there was only one place in the whole Universe where you could do wwooffing, Ås Trädgård would be that place. Thank you once again for the amazing experience!

Currently I am staying here and I am having an absolutely GREAT time. Staying here means you have a lot of extremely awesome and warm-hearted people around you and you are part of the family – not a guest. Everyone is very welcoming, happy and positive. There is varied work to do which is fun and interesting (especially when the weather is nice, haha) and furthermore, the food is absolutely nice. This is my first wwoofing experience and I did expect it to be good, but I would have never dreamed to arrive at such a wonderful and peaceful place! I am so glad to be here. So, I would completely recommend you to come here because this is just the perfect place to wwoof! Have fun!

Laura, Katharina and I stayed at Ås Trädgård for a week in August and had a wonderful time. The whole family is really nice and made us feel welcome during our stay. It was especially fun to cook together! We harvested loads of different vegetables, picked flowers for the market and learned that even harvesting carrots in the pouring rain almost knee deep in the mud can be fun if your rain boots and coat are big enough! There was always enough free time to sit in the garden with a book, take a bike trip to Östersund and sit by the lake etc. One day Olle took us hiking where we saw wild reindeer which was of course super exciting and the perfect ending to a great month of wwoofing in Sweden. If we hadn't booked our flights back home already, we would've loved to stay longer! Thank you all for the awesome time!

Ås is the place to be! Lovely environment, warm people, delicious organic food.. :) Working at that place together with those people was particularly pleasant. It was the first time in my life that I would be sad to finish work! But it is of course the people that make this place so special; the crazy Olsson family! Thank you for the incredibly beautiful experience Jorun, Liv, Olle, Gunnar, Lars :) Warning: if you go there, you will not want to leave!
