We’re a young community located in Sunnemo, Sweden.
At the moment we’re aiming to expand our community with beautiful, involved and mature people. We work hard to realize our dream of becoming a self-sufficient and functioning community.
Already so much work has been done in creating:
- living spaces
- independent solar and heating systems
- vegetable gardens
- small scale farming
- café/restaurant
We are looking for people who are interested in joining us and investing in this amazing place and our fantastic people.
What we are looking for in You:
• Self-driven and passionate for creating something long-term here.
• Willing to take on responsibilities (i.e. starting up and maintaining an animal project, working with the garden/farming, working with building/construction/maintanance or taking on café work.
We have a beautiful place with plenty of potential so we feel there is room and wish for more folks to join us. Not just as helping hands, though. We want to share our lives with more people who are interested in sticking around and becoming part of our structure and community.
We are a also a drug free community, we try to keep our heads clear so we can keep on communicating with each other and working to the best of our abilities.
Of course, outside of working together we also love spending time together taking sauna’s, dancing, watching movies, hiking, playing games or simply just hanging out with each other.

Our farm is 1 hour north of Karlstad. From Karlstad there are buses that stops nearby the farm and takes an hour.

I spent 3 weeks in Sonnemo ecovillage. I realy enjoyed my time there, and all the people are very friendly and help you every time for every things. I participed to build the tree house and the foundation of the cafe, I learned a lot of things very important and I found a real motivation to work on this project. The positive point that I realy like in this farm was the metting every morning for what we are going to do today and when we were working together for a little project a the begening of the days. The farm have a very good localization in the forest and with the lake. I would to say thank you for every things for all the people even if my english are no perfect they help me. I spent ten amazing days wwoofing at the Sunnemo ecovillage. Everybody was very friendly, funny and supportive and it was great to be part of this community and share moments together. I learnt many things about permaculture and I really enjoyed planking, seeding, weeding and harvesting in the garden. The location is absolutely beautiful, between lake and forest. If you are open-minded and motivated to help others, this place is made for you! It was a pleasure to help you, I wish I could have stayed longer. Thank you again and I hope I will see you again!

In Sunnemo ecovillage I had one of the best experiences of my life. If you enjoy crazy hippie people, working for the best of the community and if your dream is spending time around the fire playing the guitar with broken strings, then buy a flight, pack your stuff and go straight there.
Remember to bring with you a good dose of open-mindedness and a bag filled with the will of being helpful.
