As it looks right now we are full for the summer. At least I have several pending requests who have my promise that they are welcome. Please don't contact me before they decide.
My farm is situated in southern Dalarna, close to the river Dalälven. I bought it 2016, after it had not been used for about thirty years. Now I have restored it so far that I recently have moved into it and since se seven years I have had hens, goats and sheep. The manure I use to grow vegetables in my garden. Summertime we open a garden café where we sell home made bakeries, sandwiches and pizzas.
My goal is to turn the farm in a multi functional education and recreation center for me, my four grown up kids, my grandchildren, my friends and my pupils.
Since more than 30 years I am teaching ecology at different schools. This year I work some weeks in Stockholm in April and May and hope to get help from a wwoofer to help me to prepare the garden and plant all seedlings and make firewood.
But also in June, July and August I really welcome some experienced wwoofers who are service-minded to the guests of the Café and who love to bake cakes, bread and pizza. I prefer wwoofers who want to stay at least several weeks. Couples or families who want to develop this place to an even better place are especially welcome!
I hope you respect that we try to live in a healthy and sustainable way. Alcohol, cigarettes and drugs we try to keep outside the farm.
The farm has an area of 20ha, there are two houses, a little storehouse and a big barn with a stable. One bakery oven, two wood-burning kitchen stoves, six tile stoves two bathrooms and of course a lot of rooms. The distance to my own beach is 200m. There you can borrow a boat to explore Dalälven and its affluents. I also have a sauna, two rafts, several canoes and a lot of bicycles which you can borrow for free.
A bus (#203 from Avesta Krylbo) stops right outside the farm and brings you to Avesta within about 40 minutes.
Organic methods: We are trying to be a zero waste farm and reuse as much as possible. For growing vegetables we use the manure of the goats, sheep and chickens and to avoid weeds we cover the land with straw.

Ich hatte eine schöne Erfahrung mit Wilfried auf seiner Farm in Getgardens erlebt. Wilfried ist ein genialer Host, der einfach alles kann. Er kann Autos reparieren, Häuser bauen, sehr gut mit Kindern umgehen und hat ein großes Wissen über die Natur und ihre Zusammenhänge. Auch wie er aus allen Materialien etwas zu machen weiß und Dinge dadurch wieder verwertet, trägt er tatkräftig durch sein nachhaltiges Verhalten zum aktiven Schutz der Natur bei. Dies faszinierte mich über alle Maßen.
Ab und an darf man Wilfried liebevoll in seinem Tatendrang stoppen, der ab und an mehr Arbeit als vorgesehen auch den Wwoofern abverlangt. Doch dies war mit klaren Aussprachen kein Problem. Ein gutes und schönes Zusammenarbeiten ergab sich stattdessen daraus.
Der Platz, wo Wilfried seine Farm hat ist magisch mit den Schafen, Ziegen und den zwei wunderbaren Hauskatzen.
Ich danke meinem Host Wilfried von Herzen, für die bereichernden Erfahrungen, die ich mit ihm und auch den anderen Woofern machen durfte.

I had the most amazing time at Getgården! Wilfried is an extremely kind soul, who cares for your well-being and integrates you immediately in his Getgården-family. The work at the farm and in the café is fulfilling and super fun. There are endless possibilities to spend your free time, such as kayaking, swimming, cycling or just enjoying the sun with a good book in one of the hammocks. I will definitely come back and already miss the farm, the people and Wilfried a lot! Thank you for everything!!!

If you want to have a good time, I would recommend staying at Wilfrieds goat farm. The day I arrived, lunch was already prepared and after a tour around the farm we could help him restoring the goat shelter. Wilfried has a lot of patience and likes to teach you a lot. On Thursdays it is baking day, and I learned many new recipes. It was so much fun baking with the other woofers and hanging around. Thereby Wilfried is always open to new ideas, so if you have ideas how to improve recipes or the farm he will probably like it. I loved to learn how to bake pizza’s in the pizza oven as well. In the weekend the café is open and the garden fills itself with people. We were lucky that another woofer prepared our meals and that there was always something fun to do, like swimming, canoeing, cycling or chilling with the animals (cows, sheep, bunnies, the cat or the goats). We also helped building a dome in the garden, I liked working with my hands and learning new techniques and tools. I had an amazing time at getgården, thank you so much Wilfried!

Amazing !!! This place is incredible if u want to discover the life in the farm.
I stayed 11 days in the wilfried's farm, I would love to stay more. Wilfried is a very nice guy, he Always help you, you can ask him if you don't know how to do something. He teached me a lot of thing: take Care of the café (prepare the dessert, cook some pizza, serve and welcome the customers) ; restore a goatshelter ; restore a bridge ; ...
Thanks to Wilfried, I discovered beautiful places close to the lake. He also teached us the history of the electric dam near the farm and came with me and woofers to a high point of view with bicycle. AT the top there IS an Amazing landscape !
The farm is clean and very beautiful, the tiny room are confortable !!
It's a very good experience to be in a farm with another woofers, you Can play music, play to cards game, borrow a bicycle or a kanoe !!!
Thank you Wilfried, i'll Come back again, it was an Amazing experience and the best trip of my life.

We absolutely loved our time at the Getgårdens Café! Wilfried was a very kind, fun, interesting, and welcoming host. His small farm cafe is nestled in the beautiful Swedish countryside of Avesta and his home is only a few hundred meters from a large lake. Wilfried allowed us to have free range of his large collection of bikes so that we could explore the country roads as well as use his boats to explore the beaches and nature reserves across the lake. The work was engaging but relatively easygoing, there was always something to do for everyone but we were also allowed to have plenty of free time to relax in the garden or explore our surroundings. This was our first WWOOFing experience and it definitely left a good impression. Our stay only lasted one week but by the end we seriously considered staying longer to help out in the cafe. Unfortunately our schedule could not be adjusted and we had to leave after 7 nights but Wilfried made sure to welcome us back another time, an offer we may have to take him up on.

The place was really lovely. The animals were absolutely adorable.
I had fun with Wilfried. He showed me what to do arround like hiking, ice skating and even ski country.
Wilfried is a warm person and will definitelly make you at ease.
The only thing that can be irritating is that everything is easier if you have a car with you (to go to the supermarket, see the city and just to move arround)
