Regenerative family farm 30 min north of Stockholm with heritage hens, cats and dog. Yoga-friendly!

A small farm in the countryside 30 minutes north of Stockholm. city. Good bus communications. We have one child still at home, 11 years old. On the farm there are about 150 breed hens. Depending on season. Only culture hens, no hybrids. Black Kopparmarans, Cream Legbar, Silveruddsblå and Hedemora. Everyone goes separately when we work with breeding. In addition, we grow as much as we can, potatoes, pumpkin, squash, Jerusalem artichokes, fruits, berries, herbs and more. The goal is to be self-sufficient in vegetables and meat of chicken. We make our own soil. You will learn a lot about how to take care of chickens. Other animals on the farm are a handful of cats and a small dog. During summer we used to have a few lambs.
En liten gård på landet 30 minuter norr om Stockholm. city. Bra busskommunikationer. Vi har 2 barn 20 och 9 år gamla. På gården finns det ett 40 tal rashöns. Svart Koppasmarans, Cream Legbar, Silveruddsblå och Hedemora. Alla går separat då vi jobbar med avel. Hagen där grisarna tidigare gått är nu redo för att bli potatisåker. Utöver det så odlar vi så mycket vi kan, potatis, pumpa, squash, jordärtskockor, frukter, bär, örter mm. Målet är att vara självförsörjande på grönsaker. Vi önskar få marken så optimal och vital som möjligt. Nu behöver vi hjälp med bygga nytt hönshus, hönsgård, målning inne och ute av olika hus på gården. Matlagning och vanliga inomhus sysslor vid dåligt väder.
Övriga djur på gården är en handfull katter och en liten hund.

I spend 2 weeks in Ewelyn and Marcus’s house with my mother and it was sooo wonderful ! We had so much fun everyday and we had such a great time with you guys. They really care about how you feel and that you are confortable with every tasks. We did a lit of different things: we painted chickens houses, took care of the hens, helped with the cooking, weeding, cleaning… we learnt a lot about hens because they are passionate people and it was so nice to do the routines. We are really happy and thankful that we spend this Precious Time with you guys.
We also went on Stockholm and Uppsala really easily on weekends because the bus stop is really close to the house so it is really nice. We also had great walks in the woods and in the natural reserve on our free time.
If some Wwoofers are looking for a tiny farm where they can had good and deep talks, with a lot of laughs and where they can learn so many things, I can tell this is the right place.

Our stay at En höna till kaffet was fabulous! We really liked the environment in which we worked. The atmosphere was cool, Ewelyn is passionate about her chickens and has a gift for passing on her knowledge. OMG! We just recognized that we totally forgot to write you a comment 🫣
It’s a shame because we literally had the most amazing time with Ewelyn, Marcus and Noomi!
The work was always fun and even when you’re not an expert in certain kind of tasks, Ewelyn is always there to help you and motivates you to interact and find solutions. Also from the first day we really felt and saw Ewelyns passion for chickens and breeding. It’s amazing to see her interact with these animals and therefore we learned a lot when it comes to chickens and how to treat them.
Once you’re on the farm you will feel Ewelyns’ and Marcus’ hospitality and kindness immediately. They didn’t just welcomed us very warm and open but also shared a lot of their culture with us, especially the swedish cuisine (food always 12/10!).
We could fill a book with all our positive experiences, but what we can definitely say, that we recommend this farm with all our heart. Thank you Ewelyn and Marcus for letting us be part of your family and teaching us so much in any kind of way! <3

I definitely recommend this farm. Though there are a lot of things to do in this farm that will keep you quite busy. This farm is the place to go for a great Wwoofing experience, you'll enjoy a very nice atmosphere : the cute little shed where you'll sleep, the cute farm animals, the Vallentuna national park with magnificent birds, the delicious and abundant food, you will learn also a lot of things about farm animals (especially hens) in a nice and pleasant family vibe!
Last but not least I would like to thank warmly Ewelyn and Marcus for their great welcome.Thank you for having shared your knowledge, passion and dedication in a very inspiring way, for your kind intentions, the authentic moments, the laughs, the fascia yoga tips and last but not least the special dice game!
