Old countryside farm near Stockholm with animals, renovation, garden and real rural life experience
Stockholm
Old farm outside a village near forest. Everything is old; buildings, funitures, me. The place is not perfectly clean or organized. Yet. This is real countryside. Insects, dirt, cold water.... Right now no production- no selling. Only maintainance of buildings and self sufficency. Work with cultivation, renovating houses. 26 sheep, 2 cows, 4 parrots, cats, 2 horses. Several houses. 4 people living permanently on the farm. Erik is employed and cares for the animals.
Preferably a strong and grown up independent working person- or couple. Someone with practical skills or experience. Problem solver. We have different good machines and tools. If you like construction you build. If you like gardening you do that. Or Your down suggestion of what is needed to be done . No big social life where you meet a lot of people. We usually dont have more than 1 or 2 woofers at the time. You work alone independantly - or with me or Erik. Weekends off. The woofers use to go town or nearby activities at the Island. We have at the moment one small boat and fishing equipment. And 5 bicycles to be repaired....
A usual day:
Work mon- fri 9-15 ( can be adopted to the woofer) . Good workig - but no stress.
Lunch break 12-13 . Food is served in my kitchen. Often remains to eat for evening meal. But the woofer might need backup of his own food .
Evening : really nothing. Or going to swim. Or going to the grocery store .
Accomendation :
In a separate house . Your own room. Kitchen with microvave an refridgerator. Outdoor toilet. Or shared water toilet. And shared woodheated shower in my house. Hotwater sometimes.
Internet access available
Bus stop 500m away. Only 30 min to reach stockholm underground.
Woofers use to enjoy the forest, wild animals , nature . Going for bike in the sourrounding. Use the little boat to go fishing. Going to Stockholm in the weeend.

If I had to describe Gunilla in a few words, I would say that she is a wonderful person who has a good heart and a good cook. If you like solitude, nature, and peace, Gunilla's farm will be the perfect place for you.

I’have been 3 weeks in this farm, and that was an amazing experience.
I really want to thanks Gunilla, she is so kind it’s a real chance to have her as a host.
The place is great and peaceful, and the cook was good.
So I had a great time but it’s won’t be the case for everyone.
If you are looking to meet a lot of people, this farm should not be the best place for you.
Otherwise the landscapes are great, the animals are adorable and there is a lot to do in the farm.
So don’t be scared give it a try you won’t be disappointed.

I had a wonderful experience at Gunilla’s farm. She is absolutely adorable, like a mother, always kind, caring, and making sure I felt comfortable. Gunilla cooks very well, and her meals make the stay even more enjoyable.
She offers many different types of work, and you can choose what you enjoy or are most interested in: construction, field work, gardening, animals, and more. During my stay I focused on the construction of the kitchen, which was both interesting and rewarding.
For some time I was the only volunteer, but I never felt lonely thanks to Gunilla’s warmth and the peaceful atmosphere of the farm. Later, I stayed with another volunteer, Steven, and it was great to share this experience with someone else. After hot days of work, we could relax and swim in the lake right next to the farm.
The farm is very well located for traveling , you can reach Stockholm in 20 minutes by bus, or take a scenic one-hour boat ride, which is a beautiful way to explore the city on weekends.
It was truly a special experience that I will always remember, and I warmly recommend it to future volunteers.

My experience at Gunilla’s farm has been truly amazing.
I’ve learned to drive a tractor, operate various machines, and even repair a cabin.
Gunilla is a wonderful host—she makes sure everyone feels comfortable and encourages you to work on tasks you feel most confident in. She’s also an excellent cook!
This is a fantastic place for anyone who’s handy and motivated to make and learn new things.
Thank you, Gunilla, for an unforgettable summer on your farm. I look forward to seeing you again soon! 🙂

It was my second adventure with WWOOF and another perfect choice✨
Gunilla runs a wonderful traditional Swedish farm where following the animals is the main rule.
The whole frame is located among forests and lakes, so if you love spending time in nature, it's also a good choice for you! 🌲
When it comes to working time, you won't get tired here too much, and the company of Gunilla makes work even more enjoyable.
I recommend everyone to stay at this farm and thank you for an amazing three weeks!❤️
