Small organic farm in the home of Swedish Lapland
Västerbotten
We are a couple, Anna-Karin and Pelle who lives here on our farm. In the summertime my son also are home from school. Our animals on the farm are sheeps, some hens, one dog and two cats. In early spring the lambs are born and later they are released to pasture with their mothers. Need help with the general farm upkeep, house restoring including painting, gardening, non toxic products used. The farm is surrounded by beautiful lakes and mountains. You can do fishing, swimming and hiking here, in 24h sunlight in summer. In the winter you can go cross-country skiing, ride a Swedish "spark", walk or fish on the ice. Easy 10min walk to local supermarket. I provide clean accomodation, shared bathroom, healthy food, barbeque, TV, non smoking indoors.

My time at Anna-Karin and Pelle’s farm in Swedish Lapland was nothing short of magical. From the moment I arrived, their kindness and warmth made me feel like part of the family. The farm is a little slice of heaven—nestled in stunning landscapes, with a serene lake nearby and the gentle presence of their amazing sheep and the sweetest lambs.
The sheep! I’ll never forget the moments spent with them—feeding them, watching them frolic, or simply sitting nearby, soaking in their peaceful presence and cuddling them. They truly have a special place in my soul.
Freyja, their beautiful dog, stole my heart instantly. Whether we were exploring the surroundings on the ATV or just relaxing together, her companionship made every day brighter. The chickens added a lively touch, and working in the small vegetable garden and greenhouse felt so fulfilling—it was a joy to see the fruits (and veggies!) of our labor.
Anna-Karin and Pelle are truly special people. Their generosity, patience, and deep connection to nature and animals inspired me in so many ways. They shared their knowledge with such passion, and their love for this life was contagious.
Leaving the farm was bittersweet—I’ll carry the memories of this experience close to my heart forever. If you’re looking for a place that feels like home, where you can connect with nature and wonderful people, this is it.
Thank you, Anna-Karin and Pelle, for opening your hearts and home to me. This was more than just a WWOOF stay—it was a gift.

Review Anna-Karin, Pelle, Freya
To me Anna-Karin and Pelle's place looks typical Swedish. There is an assortment of scattered buildings, the big yellow house, a smaller red stuga, several barns, shelters and stables and of course a chicken coop.
The spacious stuga I shared with a family of squirrels in the attic.
I learned a lot about sheep, firstly that they are definitely not stupid nor "sheepish".
The big lambs with their mothers, the (for now) separated guys and the rest of the herd all live a life in which you can see a lot of human nature. For me a great and amazing experience. There is the bold 0017, always jumping the fence when nobody is near and whenever she feels like it, 25019, a big lamb always begging (bumping) for attention, mom 33 always trying to eat the lamb's pellets. The climax being the escape of six sheep through a tunnel.
Apart from helping with the animals and doing some DIY jobs, my big project was repainting one side of the stuga, in Falun red. To be able to finish that, I stayed a bit longer than the two weeks planned but it was nice to be able to finish it.
Thank you Anna-Karin, Pelle and Freya (dog) for the great stay, I hope to be back !

I spent three unforgettable weeks with Anna-Karin und Pelle - two persons that I would describe as warmly, caring and generous, such as humorous, spontaneous and broadly-minded. From the first moment on I felt warmly welcome and it didn’t take a long time until I felt as snug as bug in a rug.
Every morning we started together with feeding the sheep and chickens such as having a tasty, substantial breakfast with fresh eggs, porridge, hard bred, vegetables, cheese, …
Afterwards we continued with the daily tasks that had been planned in the evening before, sometimes also during the breakfast, e. g. seeding and planting vegetables in the kitchen garden, setting fences for the sheep, weeding, cleaning and painting the chicken house such as harvesting and cooking. Usually we cooked a lot in the evening so that we had leftovers for the next lunch. I appreciated that we had the opportunity to try new recipes, e. g. we harvested nettle plants for a quiche. Besides that I enjoyed the intercultural exchange that we had especially during our meals. In general Anna-Karin and Pelle gave me a good insight in the farm life in the Nord of Sweden. They showed me nice places around the village, lent me a bike and car to visits them, they let me experience midsummer in their village such as in their family and invited me to family gatherings where I felt warmly welcomed. Thank you very much for this wonderful experience, for sharing your daily farm and family life with me!

We had an amazing experience visiting this farm in September. Anna-Karin and Pelle were great hosts, always providing us with new tasks around the farm and making sure that we were comfortable with the work we were doing. There were other wwoofers there during our stay that we really enjoyed getting to know and we took turns cooking for everyone which created a very nice community feeling.
Our work consisted mostly of caring for the sheep and cleaning out their barn, but we also built vegetable beds and helped out with gathering hay, and expanding the chicken coop. During our free time, our hosts brought us around to visit the local airfield and up to a nearby town in the mountains that was very beautiful. We were also lucky to see the northern lights during our stay.
We LOVED our time here and would love to return again to see the farm at another time of year. This is a very beautiful area of Sweden and very wonderful people to stay with. We miss everyone and hope to be back :)

Me and my girlfriend stayed at Anna-Karin and Pelle's farm for one month and it was the best start for our wwoofing journey!
We learned a lot about feeding and taking care of their sheep, cats, chicken (some of them were really extraordinary looking- we always called them the "electric" chicken) and of course Freja, the cutest dog you've ever seen :)
The sheep are very cuddly and will love you from the first day.
Apart from taking care of the animals we did a lot (!!) of painting in the late autumn sun, which we enjoyed very much. We also moved fences for the sheep enclosure, so they always have enough grass to eat. Pelle showed us how to drive the tractor and ATV, and AK showed us the lawnmower, which I liked a lot to drive :)
In our free time we paddled around the lake (one of many) directly near the farm on SUPs and even took the motorboat for a trip once. We were also free to take the car to Lycksele, a very cute village with the best coffeeshop!!
To sum it up, Anna-Karin and Pelle are great hosts who will always listen to your ideas and concerns and give you some insights into the swedish lifestyle. They were very welcoming and never judged us for our (sometimes really bad) cooking "skills" :)
We had a lot of fun with three other volunteers and are definetly considering to come back in spring and experience the rest of the northern winter (and more fika time!!)

My two weeks stay with Anna-Karin and Pelle in August was a great experience and went by within a second!
They are both enormously welcoming people - as well as the other family members I met at a little party - and we laughed so much together!
I shared a fully equipped house, which is about 10 minutes away from the farm, with the other WWOOFer, but everyone has an own room. All meals are taken at the farm (together if Anna-Karin and Pelle are not at work) so you'll spend most of the day there.
The tasks varied a lot and you are always welcome to share ideas or search for tasks that you enjoy, which is great! And you'll find all material and tools you need!
During my stay we did a lot of fencing and moving sheep, harvested redcurrants, I did some cleanup in the greenhouse and painted the veranda and a pavilion. You should be able to work independently as Anna-Karin and Pelle are usually at work during the week. Since tasks are discussed in the evenings I felt comfortable with that.
Thank you Anna-Karin and Pelle for those wonderful weeks full of laughing, enjoyable tasks (except of the shit shoveling ;);)) and good food, for sharing your knowledge about culture and landscape and introducing us into all the activities you have at the village (especially the great Gargnäs Open minigolf tournament). All the best to you!
