We - Elin, Emelie and Espen live together on a farm near Alingsås. We moved in here during autumn 2024. During our first year, we began growing vegetables (for our own use), planted fruit trees and berry bushes, and now Espen has started his own market gardening business and we have expanded our veg patch by about 10x compared to last year, as well as building a polytunnel! Our collective vision is to become more self sufficient, and we are having a lot of fun trying new things (some examples: sawing timber with a mini sawmill, making rope from plant fibers, making cheese, preserving food in different ways). We also have twelve adorable ducks (to lay eggs and eat slugs) and an elderly cat.
During this summer and autumn (2026) our main projects will include a lot of work in the veg patch with weeding, watering and lots of harvesting, there will also be some building projects such as building a shed/winter house for the ducks. There are also constantly new jobs and projects turning up which add variety to the work! We are still new to this but would love to share what we have learnt so far and learn new things together!
We are looking for WWOOFers who are prepared to participate in our daily work, typically from about 8 am to 2 pm during weekdays, with breaks for lunch and coffee. The rest of the time is free, though you can of course join us in other activities round the farm if you like. We will do our best to be good WWOOF hosts, and welcome feedback.
We have a small cabin separate from the main house with one bedroom (two single beds) and a combined kitchen (with fridge, microwave and stove)/living room. It is also possible to sleep in the living room on a sofa bed. There is a bathroom with a shower. The main house has wifi which you can use, though it doesn't reach to the cabin. WWOOFers will cook their own food in the cabin, though we might occasionally have dinner together (and games!?).
We love to cook good food and harvest and preserve our produce. We mostly eat vegetarian food, but occasionally local meat and fish. Espen is a keen birdwatcher and Elin is mapping the biodiversity of the farm (plants, mosses, fungi, insects...), so this is a good place if you want to learn about nature! Emelie likes to wander the forest in search of edible mushrooms and berries. Elin does arborist tree climbing and has equipment you can borrow (at your own risk!).
We live just a few hundred meters from a lovely large lake, with a beautiful view from the cabin where you will stay. Here you can go swimming and fishing (bring your own equipment), we also have a boat. We are at the edge of the large forested area Risveden, with several nature reserves and hiking trails.
