We are a young family (Jana 39, Alex 36, and Rio 3) that run a small farm with accommodation close to the High Coast in Sweden. Here on the farm we have a vegetable beds, berries, 30 laying hens, forest, and an Eco House which we run as a B&B and occasional café and event venue. Our intention for the farm is for it to be a place where people and life in all of its forms can recharge, be inspired and fully more fully alive. We are a mix of nationalities (Swedish/US American and German) and speak English, Sweden and German. There is no end of tasks and projects you can take on here at the farm. Here are a few examples depending on the season: Winter: snow shoveling, carrying and stacking wood, and tending to the hens Spring: seeding, preparing vegetable beds, preparing greenhouse for planting Summer: lawn mowing, watering, weeding, harvesting, tidying accommodation rooms, moving hens according to our rotational grazing schedule, collecting eggs, stacking wood Fall: harvesting vegetables and berries, closing vegetable beds, preparing the greenhouse for winter housing for the hens Please note tasks and projects that we most often need help with are the simplest: lawn mowing, weeding, water, snow shoveling, stacking wood, etc. Sometimes there are also opportunities for more creative projects. But in general, we ask you set your expectations for doing simple and routine tasks most days. WWOOFers work around five-six hours per day, five or six days a week. The typical schedule is work from 10am-1pm and then 3pm-5pm or similar. You have at least one day off per week. We set expectations together at the beginning to make a plan that feels good for all of us. WWOOFers stay in Bagarstugan (which means Baker's Cabin) from April-October. It's a lovely small cabin with a double-bed, small oven, and a basic kitchen. There is no running water or toilet. For showers and toilet you are welcome to use the bathrooms in the guesthouse (except during tourist rush hours in the morning/evening), as well as the outside toilet 20 meters away. We will provide all food you will need. You have breakfast in the cabin, and we will provide you with breakfast ingredients. We will have lunches together during the day, featuring ingredients from the garden as much as possible. We usually eat simple meals on our own in the evening, but we will make sure you're taken care of too. We enjoy spending time in nature and slowly but surely helping this place become what it wants to become. We are very much at the start of our journey of running a place like this ourselves and we are constantly learning and trying things out. We love bringing people together here for occasional concerts, talks, courses and cafés here at the farm. And we enjoy exploring the mystical and spiritual side of life. We try to be conscious about our use of digital devices, especially with our son. In and around our house, at meals and when spending time with our son, we ask you not to be mindful of not using your digital device. We ask volunteers not to smoke, drink alcohol, or consume other substances while staying here. The farm is a workplace, with paying guests who come for peace and stillness. Our farm is set in a calm valley with where you can take beautiful walks and bike rides (we have bikes you can use when guests don't rent them). The Ångermanälven river is a 20 minute walk away. Only 20 minutes away is the High Coast, a popular destination for hiking and walking, with stunning views and beautiful trails. There are also several islands you can visit with ferries to get a taste of Swedish seaside life.

I have had a fantastic time in Allsta Gård. Jana and Alex are just lovely and welcoming. I felt involved from the first minute we met. I helped a lot with building raised beds, shelfs and other stuff, but also planted. With Jana we baked delicious bread and Kanelbulle. I also could spend some time with Rio who is a very interested and energetic kid, who I loved to play with. In my time I met a lot of other Wwoofers who all were nice as well. I was also given advice and help with planning and doing nice Trips to placed in the wonderfull surroundings. Thank you for all Best regards Janne

Upon arriving I was met with gorgeous views and lovely surroundings! I was lucky enough to share a room with a fellow woofer from Germany and we got along really well! I helped out by doing some digging and planting of veg in their poly tunnel, mowing the lawns, helping around their guesthouse (which they run year round offering retreats to paying guests) & helped collect eggs from their pasture raised chickens. Alex and Janna are such a warm and friendly couple, so grateful I was there for Midsommar to celebrate with them all! Look forward to returning in the future!

We stayed at Allstä Gård for eleven days, and it was even greater than we expected. Everyone was so nice, we had agreeable time with Alex and Jana (who are the best cooks ever !!). We enjoyed our time of work, because every project was very interesting, and we learned a lot of things during our stay. It was a warm and friendly ambient , we really got to know everyone, and also had interesting conversations. In addition, we really enjoyed the time we spent with Rio, who is adorable! If our journey in Sweden was so memorable and nice, it is mostly thanks to you, so again thank you so much ! Anna and Eva

I had an absolutely wonderful first WWOOFing experience at Allsta gård and I couldn’t have asked for a better place. From the very beginning, I felt welcome and at home, Jana, Alex and Rio are warm, open, and truly create a special atmosphere. What I also appreciated was how thoughtful everything was. Tasks were as far as possible adapted to our interests and wishes and we planned the work together, which made the whole experience very collaborative and enjoyable. There was also a genuine awareness of balance, the other WWOOFer and I received great tips for days off, which made it easy to explore the absolutly great area. The variety of tasks was amazing and made every day interesting. I had the chance to help with fermenting, take care of Rio, bake sourdough bread, build a shelf, paint walls, clean the b&b room, work on hotbeds, and help care for chickens (and we even made cinnamon buns!). I learned so many new skills and felt that my contribution was truly valued. Allsta gård is a really special place with so much heart and potential. I left feeling inspired, grateful, and enriched by the experience. I would highly recommend this place.
