A unique farm with culture from both Sri Lanka and Grusum in the very north

Welcome to our home in the far north!
We are Matilda and Rolf, living together with some goats and our little dog Olle. We live in a beautiful northern landscape, surrounded by forests, wildlife, and water, where nature truly sets the rhythm of everyday life.
During the summer season, we care for a small but diverse growing patch of about 300 square metres, where we grow vegetables ecologically. Our crops include potatoes, carrots, squash, parsley, chard, lettuce, strawberries, and more. We also keep five sheep, as well as chickens and hens that provide us with fresh eggs. This summer, we are hoping to take our first steps into beekeeping, which is an exciting new project for us.
Our home is located just 50 metres from a large lake, perfect for swimming and fishing. We also have a small motorboat that we use on the lake. The surrounding nature is rich with wildlife such as moose, deer, and reindeer, and the forests offer plenty of berries including blueberries, cloudberries, lingonberries, and raspberries.
Matilda is an excellent cook, and if you are lucky, you might get to enjoy Sri Lankan food, reflecting her roots in western Sri Lanka. We live simply and value sharing good food, conversation, and everyday life with others.
We enjoy having people around and sharing both work and joy together.
In addition to gardening, there are several summer projects to help with and starting up the beekeeping etc.

උතුරු දිශාවේ අපගේ ගෙදරට ඔබව සාදරයෙන් පිළිගනිමු! අපි මටිල්ඩා සහ රොල්ෆ්. අපි අපගේ කුඩා චිහුවාවා බල්ලා වූ ඔල්ලේ සමඟ එකට ජීවත් වෙමු. වනාන්තර, වල් ජීවීන් සහ ජලය වටා ඇති සුන්දර උතුරු භූමි ප්රදේශයක අපි ජීවත් වෙමු. මෙහිදී දෛනික ජීවිතයේ රිද්මය සැබවින්ම ස්වභාවධර්මය විසින් තීරණය කරයි. ගිම්හාන කාලය තුළ, අපි සම්භාව්ය හා විවිධ වූ වගා භූමියක් (සම්මත වශයෙන් වර්ග මීටර් 300ක් පමණ) රැකබලා ගනිමු. එහිදී අපි පරිසර හිතකාමී ලෙස එළවළු වගා කරමු. අපගේ වගාවන්ට අර්තාපල්, කැරට්, වට්ටක්කා, පාර්ස්ලි, චාර්ඩ්, ලෙටස්, ස්ට්රෝබෙරි සහ තවත් බොහෝ දේ ඇතුළත් වේ. එමෙන්ම අපි මුවන් පහක්, සහ කුකුළන් තබා ගනිමු, ඔවුන්ගෙන් අපට නිතරම නව බිත්තර ලැබේ. මෙම ගිම්හානයේදී, අපි මී පාලනය (beekeeping) ආරම්භ කිරීමට බලාපොරොත්තු වෙමින් සිටින අතර, එය අපට ඉතා උද්යෝගිමත් නව ව්යාපෘතියක් වේ. අපගේ නිවස විශාල වැවකින් මීටර් 50ක් පමණ දුරින් පිහිටා ඇති අතර, එය නානටත් මසුන් ඇල්ලීමටත් ඉතා සුදුසුය. වැවේ භාවිතා කිරීමට අපට කුඩා මෝටර් බෝට්ටුවක්ද ඇත. වටා ඇති ස්වභාවධර්මය තුළ මූස්, මුවන් සහ රේන්ඩියර් වැනි වල් ජීවීන් බහුලව හමුවේ. වනාන්තර තුළ බ්ලූබෙරි, ක්ලවුඩ්බෙරි, ලින්ගන්බෙරි සහ රැස්ප්බෙරි වැනි බෙරි වර්ගද බහුලව ලැබේ. මටිල්ඩා ඉතා දක්ෂ අහාර පිසින කෙනෙකි, ඔබට වාසනාව ලැබුණහොත් ඇයගේ ශ්රී ලාංකීය ආහාර රස බලන්නටද ඔබට අවස්ථාව ලැබිය හැක — එය ඇයගේ ශ්රී ලංකාවේ මූලයන් ප්රකාශ කරයි. අපි සරලව ජීවත් වන අතර, හොඳ ආහාර, සංවාදය සහ දෛනික ජීවිතය අනිත් අය සමඟ බෙදා ගැනීම අපි ඉතා වටිනා ලෙස සලකමු. වගාවට අමතරව, ගිම්හාන කාලය තුළ උදව් කළ හැකි ව්යාපෘති කිහිපයක්ද ඇත. උදාහරණයක් ලෙස බැල්කනියක් ඉදිකිරීම සහ මී පාලනය ආරම්භ කිරීම. අපි අප වටා මිනිසුන් සිටීම ඉතා කැමතියි, සහ වැඩත් සතුටත් එකට බෙදා ගැනීමට අපි සතුටු වෙමු. ඔබ උතුරු ප්රදේශයේ ජීවිතය, පරිසර හිතකාමී වගාව සහ ස්වභාවයට ආසන්නව ජීවත් වීම පිළිබඳ කුතුහලයක් දරන්නේ නම්, අප සමඟ එක් වීමට ඔබට ඉතා සාදරයෙන් ආරාධනා කරමු.
