Hi, we are Mikael and Frida. Together we run a small farm with a few cows, some pigs, and poultry. We live here with our two children, one dog, and four cats. Our goal is to run a sustainable farm with happy animals and happy humans, and we practice regenerative and holistic farming.
The most common tasks on our farm involve feeding and caring for the animals. Moving the animals is also a regular part of daily life. Other tasks that you may be doing:
- Sowing vegetables
- Pick weed at the vegetablepatch
- Trimming grass
- Harvesting vegetables
- Help with sales
- Cleaning the farmbuildnings/chickenhouses
- Slaughtering and preparing chicken
- Fencing
There are also ongoing projects, often related to building or maintenance.
We prefer you have a drivers license, you will be driving at least one vehicle (UTV).
You will stay in a cottage (the old brewery), which has two bedrooms and one bathroom with a shared shower and toilet. Meals are usually eaten together with us in the main house (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), unless we have stocked the cottage with kitchen supplies. Sometimes we cook, sometimes we provide pre-cooked meals, and sometimes you cook yourself or for us all — it depends on what we agree on and what suits the day.
Staying with us also means having space to reflect and enjoy the surroundings. You might find yourself pondering life, death, philosophy, and everything in between. There is a shallow lake on the property where you can fish or take a swim. In winter, it is often suitable for ice skating and cross-country skiing, and there are beautiful areas nearby for hiking.
