At Vittsjö Vingård we grow grapes for wine, vegetable, wild flowers, mushrooms and Honey
Skåne
Hello, I'm Michael, an American living in Vittsjö, Swedens only Blue Zone, with my wife Amanda, who is Swedish, and our daughter, Zoe. My vision is to create a unique vineyard experience that blends viticulture with music, mushroom cultivation, Vegetables and wildflowers.
There is never a typical day at our place, so much depends on the weather. We will be doing everything from painting, pruning, weeding, harvesting honey, planting or perhaps a little carpentry.
Depending on our bookings, we offer housing at the house located on the vineyard or our hotelI/Inn. We will meet for breakfast at the hotel, pack ourselves a lunch and then head out to the vineyard where will take a decision on what is to be done that day. Dinner will either be at the house or at the hotel.
Amanda and I have traveled the world extensively and have spent most of our professional life working as chefs. Music is very important to us which is one reason we play music for our plants year round. We are fortunate to live in a beautiful region of Norra Skåne surrounded by forest and small lakes. There is a wonderful golf course 3 kilometers from the vineyard. One of Swedens favorite hiking trails (Skåneleden) goes directly by the vineyard. The train and bus stop right here in Vittsjö and you can be in Copenhagen it just over an hour.

I had a wonderful stay with Mike and Amanda! I stayed there for 10 days, had to do different tasks like planting wildflowers and vegetables, pruning the vines or spreading out mushroom micellium. 🌞
Mike and Amanda were really generous and wonderful hosts, we had dinner together almost every evening (which was delicious as they're both chefs), I had a beautiful and comfortable room to stay in, they let me borrow their bikes and they really made an effort to show me the region (we even went to Kristiansstad together and did a Moose Safari)!
I felt very welcomed from the beginning!
And the vineyard is a really beautiful place with a variety of plants, so I would definitely recommend going there! 🪻🌾
