Welcome to Wealdbrook Agroekologi! We are Sara and Dylan and cat friend Tirba - after years of looking for a suitable farm we finally found and moved to our place in autumn of 2023. Sara is originally from Sweden and Dylan grew up in Hong Kong but moved to the UK at an early age. After years of both living in London and growing vegetables in our small backyard and volunteering at local social enterprises we decided to fulfil our dream of starting a market garden in the countryside of Sweden. We are a small market garden about 45 min north of Gothenburg - surrounded by pristine woodlands, trickling waterways, a plethora of biodiversity and a nature reserve. Here we grow a wide range of vegetables on a space of 3000 square meters in accordance with nature's own rhythm and principles, without any chemical inputs. Our mission is to provide food not only for nourishment and enjoyment, but also much-needed connections between people, cultures, and the natural world. We are now at the cusp of our third season and we have recently welcomed farm-manager, David from France who will stay with us and manage the vegetable production until September 2026. Our farm is not just purely on a mission to grow diversified nutrient dense vegetables, we are also actively striving to create connections with our local community and create stable, reoccurring access points to locally produced food. We do this by creating and attending local food markets, providing small CSA subscription and supplying vegetables to local restaurants via a local wholesaler. As a WWOOFER on our farm, you’ll take part in the daily rhythms of ecological growing, working with the soil, the seasons, and the living systems around us. Much of our work in the early season (april - may) is focused on bed preparation, where we build healthy soil using compost and gentle methods that support long-term fertility. You’ll help with bed management, not just as a task, but as a way of observing balance in the garden and giving our crops the space they need to thrive. Throughout the season, we practice sowing and transplanting, nurturing plants from seed to maturity with care and attention. During harvest, you’ll help gather fresh produce at its peak, connecting directly with the results of the work. We aim to grow food in a way that respects natural cycles and biodiversity. No experience is needed—just curiosity, care, a willingness to roll your sleeves up and be part of a more regenerative way of living. We are an active business market garden, the work is varied, seasonal, and always connected to the rhythms of nature. We currently cannot provide indoor housing, so we’re looking for WWOOFers who can bring their own accommodation, such as a caravan, campervan, or similar setup. You’ll have a place to stay on the land, with access to basic facilities, and the chance to live close to nature in a simple, grounded way. Food is an important part of life here. We share three meals a day, prepared and enjoyed together. Breakfast is also when we gather to plan the day’s tasks, talk through priorities, and align with the rhythm of the farm. Living here is about community, simplicity, and connection—to the land, the food we grow, and each other. When we are not busy with the farm we all enjoy quiet downtime. Sara loves all kinds of handicrafts such as knitting, crocheting and natural living. Dylan is an amazing cook and he also has a strong interest in traditional woodworking and he is happy to share his knowledge with others. Together, we like to unwind and relax in the local community sauna or go for a meal in the local town of Trollhättan. There are plenty of ways to enjoy the surrounding area during your free time, especially if you enjoy being outdoors. The nearby forests offer beautiful opportunities for hiking, with quiet trails and wildlife. In the warmer months, there are several spots for swimming in lakes and natural waters—perfect for a refreshing break after a day on the land. For trips further afield, there is a local bus connection into Trollhättan, where you’ll find shops, cafés, and other amenities. From there, you can easily take a train to Gothenburg, Sweden’s second-largest city, known for its vibrant culture, food scene, and coastal atmosphere. Whether you prefer quiet time in nature or exploring nearby towns and cities, there’s a good balance of both here.
