Cozy family homestead in small village close to Hedemora town

We are two families in two households living on a smaller homestead: me and my two sons, and my sister and her two daughters. The children are aged 9–14 yrs old.
We focus on self-sustainability, growing vegetables and berries on a small scale. We also have chickens, quails, three friendly goats, two lovely horses, a couple of rabbits, guinea pigs, and three dogs :) We produce eggs and milk (from one goat) for our own consumption.
We use the horses for farm chores such as collecting firewood, but also for leisure rides in the forest or nice outings in the carriage around the local villages. If you are into horses, you will have the opportunity to participate in horse-related activities.
We have a small creek running through the property and the village, and we are about 10- 15 min walk away from the forrest. 25 min hike from the farm you will find a nice fireplace in the forrest.
We do all sorts of regular farm work such as gardening, caring for animals, maintaining the fields, building fences, etc. We need help with all of this according to season and what needs to be done. Some work can be a bit demanding physically. We also have regular jobs in town so we will be away working part of the weekdays.
We grow our own hay and have local farmers helping us with the harvest.
We milk one of our goats and produce some dairy products for our own consumption, so if you like, you can make your own yoghurt or cheese :) Note that we only have one milking goat so its on a very small scale.
I have a room in my house for you to stay in, with a double bed. You are free to use the kitchen, bathroom, and living areas. If you prefer camping that can be organized.
Some of us are vegetarians, and some are not. We offer both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meal options. We love to cook and eat dinner together, but you are always free to use the kitchen whenever you like.
My main hobby is, of course, the farm life itself: early mornings feeding the animals, spending days outdoors working on the property, going for horseback rides in the forest, or just having a cup of tea together with the goats.
I am vegetarian for ethical reasons, and I value the well-being of all animals. Our animals are our friends, and just spending time with them is what I value the most.
I’m also into yin yoga. I’m by no means an expert, but I’m happy to do a session with you if you like!
We are a sometimes lively family with children in need of attention. It will not always be peaceful and quite.... rather the opposite.... We are six very different individuals, with various interests such as mountain biking, arts and crafts, dancing, singing, and cars, to name a few.
We are close to the forrest, with nice trails for both walking and mountain biking (if you have your own bikes). There is also a magical forest lake a short drive away, deep in the woods.
We love spending time together on the farm, doing some work and having visitors over. We would love for you to come and stay with us!
