Hello WWOOFERS! My name is Lillemor and I have a site in Gräfsnäs, Sollebrunn, Sweden. The design of the site is as much Permaculture as possible. It includes agroforestry in shape of forest garden for example. I am educated teacher, I hold a Permaculture cerfiticate and has an education in agroforestry. All I do has permaculture as a purpose. But of course it is not complete or ready. I am, after all, still a part of our society. Here you will find food production as perennial crops, annual crops, seed production, ducks and chickens, water storage, tools run with electricity or handcraft when possible. Please ask to try the scythe if you like! Typical farming activities are nursing the birds, nursing the plants, weeding, digging mud for water storage, carry or shovel soil and other heavy materials, harvesting, refinement, reparation, pruning, planting and keeping things going. We will work together from 9 to 16 on weekdays, never more than that, and have one hour break for lunch at 12. If you like, we make an agreement to change what time of the day you are active. Saturdays and sundays are days off if you stay a whole week. If you stay shorter time we make an agreement on what days to work. In free time you are welcome to use the workshop or garden for your own projects as long as we agree on what materials to use. Or you use the hammock all evening or make a hammock for the site :) It is, on my site, important to be efficient in working. You need to keep a nice tempo and try to keep eyes open in how to use your time to achieve good results. There happen to be a lot of different tasks in reward. You need to bring waterproof shoes or wellingtons, rain clothes and clothes who can be muddy. Gloves are provided. At my place you will find accomodation both on top of the workshops in a separate house or on the second floor in the bigger house. You will have a private room. You will make breakfast, lunch and dinner on your own (I supply the groceries), but sometimes I cook for all and for us to have a nice meal together. If I have to go to work and have to be away, we may meet a short while in afternoon and have a fika (seedish word for coffee or tea with something sweet). It is a nice time for evaluation of the work and making new plans. On the second floor in the big house is a small kitchen with two stovetops, an oven and a microwave oven. The one thing you cannot do here is to fry i frying pan, but in the oven you can fry food. Here is also a small fridge. The washing up is to be done in the big kitchen on the bottom floor, wich I keep open in afternoon. You are supposed to do most of your washing each day. There will be abundance of fresh vegetables from the garden (a lot of different spinach and leeks all season ) to eat, rice and pasta and other things we agree on. My hobbies are gardening, ceramics and reading and seeing friends and family. In the evenings, I will spend my time on my own for most times. There are plenty of things to do in the neighbourhood. Nearby you will find big forests, a small mountain with a nice view from the top, and plenty of things to go and find out. I have a list of things that can be interesting. There is a nice park to visit 500 meters away. Here are many visitors in summertime, a very nice beach, ice cream stand, restaurant, old museum buildings and a quite exciting ruin castle. Now and then there are events going on in the park: read more at https://grafsnasslottspark.se/ About 200 meters away you can take a ride with a museum train: Www.agj.net It is easy to borrow a bike to visit new places or to run errands in Sollebrunn five kilometer north. The bike has of course to be mended if damaged. The bus stops 30 meters from the house (the bus stop is called "Gräfsnäs") , and takes yoy within five minutes to the village Sollebrunns where you can find drugstore, supermarket, a municipality office, hairdressers and some shops. Of course you can borrow a bike to go here. In the other direction you will find the small town called Alingsås, "The capital of fika", a very cosy town, and from here you can take the train to Gothenburg. Since I struggle very hard not to make unneccessary impact on climate and resources I do not accept going by plane to visit me. Please consider train and bus for your travel and think of all the nice time you have contemplating while travelling. . (we supply the groceries) In your spare time you can go by bus to town. (30 minutes to Alingsås and from there 40 minutes to Gothenburg or 3 hour to Stockholm) If you get accepted and do not respond to the answer within a week I will have to cancel you to make room for someone else. So please keep your eyes open for messages if you hav made an application!. I hope you will enjoy your stay at my place. I will do my best to make you enjoy your stay!

Together with two other WWOOFers, I spent a brilliant week full of new experiences at Lillemor’s and really enjoyed our little temporary community. I’ve planted, harvested, learnt how to prune fruit trees properly and how to use a scythe. I’ve repaired fences and learnt about lots of permaculture techniques. Lillemor is a warm-hearted, dedicated and open-minded person who loves sharing her extensive knowledge and her wonderful place. Thank you for all the hospitality, the insights into Swedish culture and the many good conversations!

I had a beautiful stay at Lillemor's! It was both fun and educational. Lillemor is a warm, caring and respectful host. She was also curious about my ideas, which created this very warm and creative environment. Moreover, her house, garden and the surrounding area with a beautiful lake and forests had a very calming effect on me. Her garden is a peaceful place open to everyone - children, wwoofers, plants, microorganisms and animals alike. It's truly a special place she has built.

Lillemor is such a lovely and inspiring woman! I really enjoyed my stay and learned a lot from her. Baking bread, making wine from the grapes and painting were my favorite tasks to do. My room was so cozy and it was a good balance between work and freetime. I also enjoyed having fika outside in the sun or in the hammock. Highly recommented!

I had a wonderful week staying with Lillemor. The house and gardens are beautiful, and it’s only a 25-minute bus ride from the lovely town of Alingsås. Lillemor is an incredibly kind and open-minded person, and she’s an excellent cook as well—she bakes delicious bread! I hope to come back and say hello again.
