I stayed for 1 month at Gunilla’s farm, mostly during september. It was my first wwoofing experience, and I should say this farm is a great place to start. It is quite big and rustic, so you’ll need to keep the place tidy and clean during your stay. The wwoofers stay in a separate area which allows for a nice personal space. I found Gunilla to be very communicative and nice. She cares for wwoofers, doesn’t ask for a ton of work, and it is easy to talk to her. She also has a ton of stories and things to talk about if you are interested. The food and housing are good, but you’ll have to make a fire to heat water regularly. Regarding work activities, there is an infinite list of things to do. If you are specialized in a manual craft, you’ll definitely find projects, but do know that electric tools are very few. If not, you’ll still be able to do things, like harvesting potatoes, chopping wood, taking away garbage to the community landfill in Gunilla’s car, repairing doors, etc. Gunilla will guide you to find stuff to do but you will also be quite free to decide what and how to do stuff. Stockholm is not far, there is a nice forest at the farm, and the lake is nearby too, with a small boat to go fishing or visit nearby islands and coasts. There is a lot more about the place and the people, but that’s for you to find out. There are also a few kitties, Tessan especially is a cutie patootie. All around, it’s a peaceful place with a lot of possible activites and freedom.

We really enjoyed our 3 weeks at Hornudden. Karin and Mats are very sweet and tried to accommodate our needs. We had a little hut to ourselves with two beds, chairs, table and wardrobe. We used the bathroom as well as the kitchen and living room in their house. The tasks we had to do on the farm were various. Both of us appreciated how well-organised everything was, especially compared to prior farm experiences. As a group we always had Fika together, with coffee or juice and bread with cheese and fresh tomatoes or baked cakes. Lunch was eaten in the restaurant and was always delicious as well. As for dinner, sometimes either Karin or Mats cooked for us or we had to cook for the four of us. We did face a few practical challenges in the kitchen. Finding utensils took some time, and we had trouble operating the oven, which led to a delayed dinner on one occasion. Given their demanding work on the farm, we completely understand that eating on schedule is important to them, and we regret the stress this caused. We've also been invited to Sunday dinners with their children and grandchildren, which was really sweet. There were some minor communication issues with the two of them. They were not always on the same page when it came to instructions which was slightly confusing at times. Nevertheless the farm is located in a calm and beautiful area which makes it easy to relax and leaving routine stress behind. Overall, we definitely recommend to go wwoofing at Hornudden!

I live in Stockholm and spent a day helping Duncan at Brogärde Trädgård. The garden and area there is beautiful, well taken care of and Duncan is a very kind, knowledgeable, and interesting person. It was nice to help out a small business, I’ll be back!

It's my first wwoof experience to stay at Gunnar's Farm. I'd absolutely recommed this farm!!!! Most of my work involves in harvesting, washing and packing vegetables. And I also spent some time on door painting in the workshop. Every morning, I wake up hearing cows mooing nearby. The most satisfying part is that sometimes, for lunch or dinner, we get to eat food that was grown right here on the farm. During these days, I was very curious about everything on this island and he was very patient and kind to answer my questions. I wanna say thank you to Gunnar, and I'll come back again!!

I had a wonderful time staying with Sofia and her family. The tiny home is simple and comfortable and the meals are great. I felt like I was provided everything I needed for the week that I was there. I spent a lot of time with the kids, during meals and work hours, which made this different from a lot of my other wwoofing experiences. As it says in the description - the work really varies from day to day. Some days I was working in the greenhouse, some days on the duck house, some days weeding and mulching. Overall a very lovely experience.

During my nearly 3 months at Buters Eko, I have met wonderful, inspiring people & had a lot of fun "working" at the farm. Discovering the island was beautiful, especially the trips to Fåro and Medieval Week (highly recommend!). The shared WWOOFer car made this very easy. I very much felt like part of the Buters family. Cooking and eating together was a great experience, not least because of the vegetables, which we took straight from the fields, and I fondly remember playing card games, watching movies together as well as the occasional trip to Visby. I am very thankful to Gunnar, who was a wonderful, caring and open-minded host (and very patient with my Swedish) as well as all other people who made my stay an unforgettable experience, and I am looking forward to coming back!

My girlfriend and I had the most incredible time wwoofing with Tommy and Kent! We were able to enjoy the beauty of the Swedish countryside and learn about farming with animals. The food that Kent prepared was always delicious, we had a lovely room in our own separate house, and the work load was very manageable, leaving lots of time to ‘play and jump’, as Tommy would say. This will be an experience we will always remember. Thanks for everything!

Rosenhill is Hands-down one of the best experiences you will have in WWoofing. It’s an amazing farm that makes you feel welcomed and immediately feel as though you are part of the family. Every day on Rosenhill was something amazing, and hopefully I can be back very soon. If you get the opportunity to come to Rosenhill it is one you will never regret. Thank you so much to all of the staff for being so supportive and helpful, and thank you Lars and Anna for allowing us to discover such a beautiful place and community.

Had a really memorable stay at Ninni's! We have been taking care of late summer tasks in the garden, such as harvesting small fruits and plums as well as weeding and watering. We have also learnt a few things about linseed oil painting! Thanks Ninni for welcoming us, you were a really great host!

I stayed with Gunnar for 2 weeks and left feeling grounded, well fed and genuinely part of the farm. Most days were spent in the fields. Harvesting, weeding, planting and one morning I got to ride in ‘rolercoster’. I also spent some time in the workshop painting doors, which was weirdly meditative. What I loved most was the community vibe of it. We all share the kitchen and eat together, and we take turns to cook with whatever's growing outside. It's just very wholesome. We also do a lot together outside of work. House chores, going to the sauna, going to the sea, movie night, reading horoscope;) It really feels like a community, and everyone is good fun. Gunnar is very kind, fun and happy to explain anything you're curious about whether it being farming or gotland. His creative way of using English words and his humor make me chuckle all the time. If you want real farm work, good people and a slower pace for a while, go. Also many thanks to Aina for picking me up and arranging everything.
